Guest post from Maggie Shayne

There is no question in my mind that ETERNITY is the greatest novel I’ve written, or am ever likely to. That’s why I want as many readers to have it as possible, so I’ve made it FREE for the rest of February on Kindle, iTunes, and Kobo. Nook only allows me to drop it as low as 99¢, so that’s what I’ve done. The book honestly felt more channeled than made up, and I’ve had many readers tell me how real it felt to them, as well. Some even reported having to skip some of the more intense scenes.
The book is unusual because it begins in the 1690s during the Witch hysteria, in a small English village and the very early American town of Sanctuary near Salem–a dangerous place to be at that time. The entire first half of the novel takes place there. But because the main characters are immortal, the second half unfolds in the contemporary world.
The love in this story is powerful, breathtaking, and swept me away as I wrote about it. A love that survives not only centuries, and stark differences, but death itself. I couldn’t have known at the time that I would later find its reflection in my own life, but I did. And as I re-read this novel, getting it ready to re-release it for you, I saw my own relationship mirrored back to me over and over, as if I’d looked into the future and foretold it.
I’ve been writing for twenty years now, more than 50 books for every major publisher. But I’ve yet to have one sweep through me onto the page the way this one did.
I hope you enjoy it, and I hope you’ll join me on Facebook (Where we’re giving away a Kindle Fire HD or Nook HD on St. Patrick’s Day in our Lucky Charms Contest. Participating Authors include Christine Feehan, Stephanie Chong, Heather Graham, Gayle Callen, Teresa Medeiros, Christine Wenger, Jane Porter, Maggie Shayne, Shelly Thacker and Julia Quinn. There’s still time to enter.)
